St Michael’s Town Centre Ministry

The purpose of St Michael’s Town Centre ministry is to be God’s mission where we are –that is in the centre of this Town. We try to achieve this by promoting a variety of activities and events which, taken together, we hope and pray will help people in their search for God. Over the past few years The Town Centre Ministry team has arranged a variety of events including Autumn talks on a variety of subjects of general interest, Music @ Mikes lunchtime concerts, Services of prayer for healing and wholeness, art exhibitions and Christmas events.  For the past few years we have given out over 4000 cards to inviting all businesses, shops and restaurants within the Town Centre to our Christmas services.  We also host Barnaby and Winterfest events Host information meetings on issues such as the Tesco development and the Town Centre Redevelopment plans.  Provide refreshments, quiet space and prayer support on Treacle Market Days and each morning throughout the year through Open Door We believe that the many comments we receive on being a welcoming church with a can-do attitude mean that people are more inclined to investigate the Christian message.  Over the next year or so we would like to: Develop further as a place where quiet, peace and prayer space can be sought in an increasingly frantic world.  Work more with other churches in the Town in joint activities such as Street Angels, supporting the Silk Life Foodbank and other activities helping those in need in our community Continue to develop our programme of activities with further lecture series, concerts and art events Play an increasing part in developing the community of Macclesfield as a good and healthy place to live Above all - be flexible, welcoming and prayerful Many, many people in the church are vitally involved in this Ministry.  If you want to join in please do.  And please remember prayer is vital underpinning all we do.
